Environmental Policy

It is the policy of Unity Web Agency to reduce our environmental impact as an integral part of our business strategy and operating procedures.

Unity Web Agency will:

  • Abide by any local, state, or federal environmental regulations
  • Purchase recycled content products, including copy paper, bathroom, and kitchen papers
  • Recycle all cardboard, glass, paper, and plastics accepted through the municipal recycling program
  • Collect food waste and compostable materials (e.g. fruit/vegetable scraps, coffee grounds and filters, paper towels) in a bin, which will be composted at a team member's home on a weekly basis
  • Identify appropriate recycling options for hard-to-recycle items
  • Specify that any new purchases for electronic equipment, fixtures, and appliances meet Energy Star or High Efficiency standards

Purpose

This policy is adopted so that Unity Web Agency may:

  • Operate as a socially and environmentally responsible business with consideration of all of its impacts upon stakeholders.
  • Continually improve our environmental performance
  • Train and empower team members to contribute and participate in efforts to reduce environmental impacts
  • Conserve natural resources
  • Reduce waste and pollution
  • Reduce its carbon footprint

This policy sets out an environmental policy that aligns with socially and environmentally responsible business practices such as those followed by Certified B Corps.

Scope

This policy shall apply to all of the Unity Web Agency’s operations.

This policy shall apply to all business activities. This includes, but is not limited to: procurement, operations, marketing, finance activities, manufacturing, and information technology.

At a minimum, this policy requires compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.

This policy will address the following areas of environmental impact, but is not limited to: responsible sourcing, natural resource conservation, recycling and waste minimization, and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions.

Responsibilities

The CEO will be responsible for ensuring compliance with this policy.

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for providing team members with training to promote environmentally responsible behavior.

All team members and contractors will be responsible for following this policy and contacting the Unity Web Agency with any questions or concerns.

Implementation

The CEO will be responsible for allocating appropriate resources, including staff and budget, are allocated to ensure that this policy can be implemented.

All team members will be responsible for participating in business activities that promote and reflect our commitment to reducing environmental impacts.

Program Evaluation

All company departments will periodically evaluate the success of this policy’s implementation and provide reports to the CEO and internal and external stakeholders.
